Hitachi Energy's High Voltage Products business is recognized worldwide as a specialist for power transmission and distribution equipment. At the Zurich-Oerlikon site, we develop and manufacture gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) for the transmission and distribution of electrical energy. With development of tools and methods, we ensure the high reliability of our switchgear.
For our business unit High Voltage Products in Oerlikon, Zurich we are looking for a Project Manager Structural Engineering. In this challenging position you will be responsible for technical project management in close cooperation with our project team in the Czech Republic. Thereby you will support in all project phases and lead technical meetings with internal and external customers.

How you'll make an impact
- Technical project management in the area of steel structures as well as support in all project phases starting with sales, through design and production of the steel structures, up to the completion of the on-site assembly
- Technical and commercial responsibility for technical project execution in compliance with relevant standards while adhering to deadlines, costs, and material objectives
- Collaboration with sales, project management, project engineering, and customers to elaborate project requirements, ensuring alignment with current standards
- Acting as the interface between GIS (Gas Insulated Switchgear) project engineering and steel support engineering to ensure effective coordination
- Leading and coordinating the project engineering activities of teams in Brno (Czech Republic) and Chennai (India), as well as external partners, for efficient project delivery.
- Initiation of supply chain processes for the creation and fabrication of steel structures and platforms
- Ensuring high-quality standards are met by performing thorough quality checks on deliverables, ensuring alignment with project and customer requirements
- Provide strategic leadership in quality assurance and process improvement, ensuring adherence to industry standards and driving continuous improvement
Your Background
- Master in civil engineering
- Experience in steel construction and knowledge of GIS of significant advantage
- CAD (3D and 2D-Auto-CAD) knowledge
- BIM software knowledge (Navisworks, Revit) advantageous
- Very good knowledge of English, other languages such as German, Italian and Croatian is an advantage
- Structural analysis program knowledge (e.g. Dlubal RFEM, Idea Statica, Hilti, Abaqus) and knowledge of EC, AISC and Building codes, EN 1090 desirable
- Good communication and organizational skills and experience in intercultural cooperation
