Project Controlling Analyst

Mission statement:

The Project Controlling Analyst supports the financial performance for individual projects and provides recommendations for the project financial decisions. The main tasks are the planning, recording and tracking costs for various projects. Additionally, the candidate will furthermore support the Local Operating Unit (LOU) Controller in overall business controlling, commercial and financial aspects. This position is designated to support the growth of business. The candidate will be assigned to both online lecture-style learning program and on-the-job trainings.

Your responsibilities:

  • You will prepare project financial plan and ensure the alignment with project execution plan.
  • You will ensure project is appropriately structured, entered, and maintained in the financial system in alignment with contract, prepare project financial status reports, including project financial data, costs, and estimates of final project cost.
  • You will coordinate regular project reviews and monitor ongoing project cost control status, cash flow, revenues, profit, gross margin, opportunities and potential cost variances. You will update all appropriate controlling tools to ensure accurate reporting for project balance sheet and income statement.
  • You will involve in various financial aspects of proposals and decisions and ensure compliance with corporate and country standards, regulations, guidelines, projects cashflow, act on minimizing overdue with project manager, follow-up on invoicing, claim and back-charges and identify and quantify risks, escalate to lead project controller/LOU controller.
  • You will support the tendering team to ensure costing elements and financial risks are properly considered, LOU controller on business controlling from financial perspective for the OU and various ad-hoc projects and initiatives on continuous improvement.

Your background:

  • You hold bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum 1 or 2-years experiences in business or financial controlling. Experience/ knowledge of ERP system. SAP is plus.
  • Knowledge of finance & accounting in IFRS and JP GAAP. CPA is plus.
  • Flexible, learning attitude and able to work in a dynamic and international environment.
  • Ability to deliver multi-tasks, meeting deadlines without being stressed-out.
  • Solid numerical analysis skills.
  • Knowledge of MS Excel is plus.
  • Leadership and communication skills. Good team player.
  • Fluent in English and Japanese languages.
