As a Primary Engineer in the Grid Integration division, you will play a pivotal role in the electromechanical design of high-voltage systems across the Netherlands. This position requires you to develop innovative solutions in collaboration with customers, internal teams, and external partners, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. Your expertise will be instrumental in advancing our high-voltage switchgear and grid stabilization systems. Your responsibilities
- Focusing on the electromechanical design of high-voltage switchgear and grid stabilization systems, using both outdoor and GIS technology.
- Independently creating 3D system documentation with Revit, adhering to technical drawing standards and customer/local regulations.
- Incorporating lightning protection, short-circuit force calculations, earthing, and cable route design into your electromechanical designs.
- Developing design solutions that balance customer requirements, economic considerations, and compliance with norms.
- Evaluating system concepts for feasibility, risks, opportunities, costs, and deadlines during both the quotation and order stages.
- Managing interfaces with adjacent trades, such as construction and secondary design, and specifying design requirements for external suppliers including the necessary clarifications regarding components/supplies/services
- Managing external suppliers
- Determining quantities and dimensioning materials, you will also create purchase requisitions and support the purchasing department with technical clarifications
Your background:
- A degree in electrical power engineering or a related field with a minimum of 3 years experience.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken; proficiency in Dutch is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills for discussing technical concepts with a variety of stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and colleagues.
- Experience working in international project teams, demonstrating your capability to contribute effectively in diverse team settings.
- The initiative and ability to work independently.
- Experience in primary deign in the field of high-voltage switchgear systems.
- Knowledge of high-voltage technology, technical mechanics, and electrotechnical processes.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, 3D design in Revit, and AutoCAD.
- Openness to new and innovative ways of working and methods such as BIM.
- Willingness to occasionally visit construction sites or customers.
