Main Accountabilities:

Design authority for an engineering discipline with low to medium complexity. Complete assignments on small projects or portions of larger projects, cost-effectively and in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards and safety requirements. Based on technical specification from end customers and inputs from LPG Engineering team, prepare substation layouts, sections, Bill of materials, RFQs, vetting of vendor offers, engg hours estimation, visit to project sites, technical risk assessment and opportunity evaluation etc.

Also involve in project detail engineering, perform engineering calculations, erection key diagram, detailed BOQ for erection, cable engineering etc.

Coordinate with Engineering Manager, Engineering Leads, Tendering team, Project managers, SCM, Secondary and civil / steel design functions, consultants, end customers etc and provide required support in each Project / Tender.

Activities Involved

Able to perform the following activities:

Design authority for all engineering activities for assignments on projects classified as Low and Medium engineering complexity. Support Project Manager for any technical issues. SPOC with customer for Engineering activities of the project. Participate in customer meetings, act on customer needs, expectations and improve customer experience. Lead, supervise and coordinate engineering project team: scope, schedule & progress, approvals, budget, targets, resource load & cost-to-complete [Engineering Meetings / Engineering Review]. Ensure Engineering processes are applied and if needed agree on scaling with Engineering Manager. Conduct Engineering Project Reviews and report progress and cost-to-complete to Engineering and Project Manager Establishes contacts with suppliers for the project and provide technical support as required. Ensure the deliveries as per schedule and carry out regular reviews. Having Primary / Secondary design expertise and able to deliver Fleet and Flash sector projects. Focus on continuous improvements both technically and functionally. Check if quality process is applied by all contributing engineering parties and escalate to QA/QC. Track and handle technical issues and follow up. Handle clarification where more than one domain/function/party is concerned plus those topics that cannot be allocated to an engineering domain. Initiate mitigation of possible responsibility gaps in the project team. Coach and develop project engineers / designers to deliver their maximum potential. Identify, track, clarify & drive project change cases that relate to engineering scope. Support claim preparation (client & supplier). Initiate and drive corrective actions. Collect and consolidate project risks and opportunities from engineering team, technical, but as well related to engineering progress, information/data availability and assumptions taken. Define, coordinate & take proactive actions to mitigate risks and lead to opportunities. Follow-up. Take calculated risk in pursuit of results and speed.

Know-how / Have Experience on:

Knowledge of Fleet and Flash system design and BoM Knowledge of primary equipment, such as Rectifier, convertors, dispensers, charging plugs, circuit breakers, disconnectors, earthing switches, instrument transformers, power/rectifier transformers, etc eMobility engineering understanding and experience preferred Understanding of interfaces to MV/HV grid and cable systems Know-how on design calculations related to Primary Engineering Good understanding of civil and structural design elements, such transformer bunds, cable troughs, ducts, support structures, access roads, etc. Grounding system design, drawings and Bill of Materials Technical data sheets verification of primary equipment. Prepare, review and validate Bill of material for tenders or projects based on requirement Providing Optimized and Customized solutions for various eMobility tenders (Indoor/Outdoor etc.,) Use creativity wherever appropriate to provide best solutions for the given situation within the framework of tender. Continuously develop standard templates and databases for tender engineering. Vendor Offer Evaluations. FAT / SAT of Primary Equipment, System as and when needed. Technical risk and opportunity assessment and validation Estimation of engineering effort for each project for costing at tender stage Innovative ideas to reduce Engineering effort

Qualification & Experience:

  • Bachelors Engineering in Electrical
  • 4+ years exp

Specific Knowledge & Skillsets:

  • Proficiency in required CAD design tools (Autodesk Revit, 3D competence preferred, BIM)
  • Knowledge of Engineering calculation tools
  • Knowledge of relevant international standards ex. IEEE, IEC etc.
  • Knowledge in eMobility tendering and project engineering activities (technical & commercial)
