Engineering Manager need to manage the Engineering and Technical aspects of substation protection and automation projects within the Grid Automation Business Line in India region. Reporting to the Operating Unit Manager and need to maintain and enhance customer satisfaction by providing excellent service at all stages of the project.

Your responsibilities:

  • Setting clear objectives and deliverables for the engineering team aligned with company goals.
  • Need to define the technical objectives of projects and establishes timelines. This involves determining the resources and milestones to achieve project success.
  • Need to supervise the design processes, which may involve working with other external designers and solution providers. It may also involve working with vendor of design software for developing a more efficient system.
  • To conduct risk assessments to anticipate potential project challenges.
  • Identifying risks early and help team to develop mitigation strategies.
  • To oversee & maintain harmonious connect between the team members, project managers, Testing Engineers, clients and partners.
  • To ensure that all projects adhere to the relevant regulations and standards which involves understanding relevant legislation, monitoring changes and ensuring work processes and outcomes comply to the industry regulations.
  • Need to handle project budgets to help save on costs and track progress. This includes monitoring of expenditures, optimization on resource allocation and make necessary adjustments to keep the project within budget.
  • To oversee the operations of engineering team - to monitor performance, facilitate growth and handle disputes within the team to ensure efficient operations.
  • To lead the team in using new technologies that improve work efficiency.
  • To ensure that a viable solution is provided in a quick and effective manner when any technical problems arise.
  • To negotiate and manage contracts with clients and suppliers. This role includes ensuring the team meets all needs to foster positive relationships with external parties.
  • To oversee the engineering quality assurance, with respect to the laid down standard and to ensure that the final product is free from any quality deviations.
  • To participate in the recruitment process, selecting candidates who align with the team's needs and the company's values.
  • To conduct performance reviews for Engineering teams to ensure productivity and help members develop their careers.

Your background:

  • Candidate should have a degree in BE / B.Tech in Electrical / Electronics Engineering.
  • Candidate must have atleast 15 to 20 years of proven work experience as an Engineering Manager or similar role managing Electrical power/Automation Engineering.
  • Analytical skills for evaluating information carefully and solving complex problems.
  • Communication skills for overseeing staff and working with other management personnel.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to catch minor errors which can result in major problems.
  • Organizational skills for keeping track of various budgets, employees, and schedules simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of SAP system is desirable.
  • Should be a team player for achieving the business KPI with collaboration.
  • Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
