The opportunity

We are seeking a new Manager for our Product Lifecycle Management team at Hitachi Energy in Västerås. The PLM team is part of our new organization and will consist of approximately ten persons covering several areas of competence. This role will require a mix of both managerial and technical skills and you will be one of our line managers with flexible working arrangements together with a competitive compensation package.

You will have managerial responsibility for a team comprising of, but not limited to, component engineers, product experts, component technology experts and sustainability compliance engineers, in a dynamic and flexible environment and which strives towards quality and on-time delivery.

How you'll make an impact

  • Manage the PLM team in the Quality & Operations department, currently comprising of approximately 10 experienced engineers and inspire an innovative & productive environment.
  • Set and follow-up on annual targets.
  • Plan and control the departmental budget.
  • Ensure to establish, implement and develop the overall PLM roadmap and corresponding artefacts leading to the highest degree of situational awareness and enable qualitative decision making.

Your background

  • The successful candidate shall have an M.Sc. or B.Sc. in Engineering or similar area.
  • Prior managerial experience or in lieu of that proven skills of managing people in project/work structures.
  • Experience or knowledge about working with lean & agile principles
  • Experience of working with product lifecycle and obsolescence flow, including setting up new ways of working and to develop the overall process and execution quality.
  • You are a self-motivated and reliable team player with an independent and result oriented working style, as well as having strong communicative and collaborative skills.
  • A good working knowledge of English, both written & spoken, is required.
