The opportunity:
Provide strategic direction, leadership, management and coordination of the engineering function across business unit. Lead a number of engineers within the business unit. Drive team performance to ensure that safety, integrity, financial and contractual requirements are met. Initiate and drive continuous improvement activities across team.
How do you make impact:
- You will be responsible to implement and sponsor for Health, Safety & Environment (HSE/SA) and all other business compliance standards and regulations of the LPG/LBU/Factory. Accountable to ensure a safe work environment and continuous improvement in HSE processes and integrity performance.
- You will act as member of the business management team providing strategic and operational guidance to support ongoing development of the business.
- You will lead engineering teams which are responsible for a number of products or sector areas and ensures delivery of a portfolio of projects on time, in full. Supports business unit in establishing and deploying required frameworks/processes. Ensures processes are in place to capture and share best practices and operational experiences Conducts and follows-up certification process jointly with business unit. Guides the business in building engineering/operational capability through training, mentoring and shadowing programs.
- You will collaborate with the Supply Chain function to ensure that correct suppliers services and equipment are available to support the engineering execution.
- You must ensure that engineering teams are adequately resourced, developed and equipped to meet business needs. Oversees planning and control process in the engineering team. Conduct regular view to ensure that the team are delivering work according to the customer and Hitachi Energy requirements.
- You will formulate financial plans and budget estimates for the business unit/business area Oversees adherence to the plans and estimates Contributes to management review of the business unit's financial performance, along with other business unit management team members.
- You must ensure that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled and directed. Guides, motivates, coaches and develops direct and indirect subordinates within policies.

Your background:
- University degree; electrical/mechanical engineering background is preferable.
- Minimum 8-year relevant experience in industrial manufacturing area of which at least 3 years in managerial positions.
- Have deep knowledge in electrical and/or mechanical engineering expertise.
- Experience in managing through sub-managers.
- Hand-on experience in shop floor is essential.
- Exposure to multicultural working environment.
