Hitachi Energy is seeking to fill one position for a North America HUB BU Continuous Improvement specialist will be reporting to the NAM HUB BU Continuous Improvement Manager, and responsible to establish and maintain a continuous improvement (CI) culture in Hitachi Energy focusing on Safety, Customer & Quality, Delivery, Inventory and Cost (S>>Q>D>I>C) by deploying a set of CI competencies, utilizing Lean Six Sigma (L6S) as the CI methodology, and creating transparency to monitor progress, within the area of responsibility.

Your responsibilities
- Safety & Integrity: Living core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues, and the business.
- Continuous Improvement Deployment: Deploying and executing the Hub/GPG strategy to continuous improvement and strategy deployment via L6S. Facilitating best practice sharing within your locations. Work directly with key stakeholders in locations to achieve buy-in and execute strategy.
- Subject Matter Expertise: Developing overall technical competences within the HUB when it comes to Testing and Lean Manufacturing .
- Support the implementation of major projects, that would lead to improved Operational performance.
- Mentoring and coaching Business CI. Developing critical mass on CI skills.
- Business Partnership: Understanding the organization's vision, objectives, and improvement needs and suggest projects and improvement actions that support objectives. Working with leaders to identify and access the best resources (internal or external) with which to work.
- Developing pipeline of Improvement Projects (Kaizen) to drive business results.
- Performance Transparency & Improvement: Providing organization-wide visibility of the current portfolio of continuous improvement efforts; track via metrics/KPIs progress and value from these efforts in order to help decision makers allocate resources and recognize success, with special focus on operational cost reduction.
- Working effectively with other CI leaders from Hitachi and Hitachi Energy Network to standardize processes and develop best practices.
- Capability Building: Providing training, coaching and facilitation support to individuals and teams so that they are better equipped to drive their improvement efforts for themselves. Support/Train in line with training and development structure for respective locations and to make sure the knowledge is well transferred within the CI community.
- Change Management: Driving cultural transformation within the scope of responsibility, with a hands-on ('Gemba') approach. Understands and promotes behavioral change to continuously improve function performance through programs and initiatives.
- Guiding, motivating and develops direct/indirect subordinates within HR policies. Developing the skills and competences to create a highly effective and efficient team.
Your background
Minimum 5-10 years of experience from leading positions in an operation and/or Production environment.
Working experience in an international team and feel confident in managing change through a dotted line organization.
Profound knowledge of Lean principles and six sigma is required as well as a bachelor in engineering.
Must be solution oriented to come up with creative solutions to challenges to achieve project goals and deliverables.
Position is based on site at our Mt. Pleasant facility.
Candidate must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
