The opportunity
Hitachi Energy, High Voltage Products, is renowned worldwide as a specialist for power transmission and distribution. The Service unit is responsible for the worldwide after sales support of generator circuit-breaker (GCB) systems and gas insulated switchgears (GIS), including training, installation and commissioning, scheduled maintenance, added value services, troubleshooting, extensions, retrofits and replacements.
Join our team as our Head of Site Services. In this role you are responsible for leading our Site Service organization, with approx. 150 employees in Switzerland, Czech Republic and India.
How you will make an impact
- Ensure capacity planning to meet mid-/long-term demands of New Business factories and Service, and ensure efficient utilization of resources globally
- Ensure that all Field Service Engineers work according to Hitachi Energy and customers guidelines and that appropriate training is provided
- Ensure excellent quality in installation and commissioning of new equipment and service activities
- Implement a strong feedback loop from site to back-office and ensure implementation of improvements
- Ensure redundancy of critical know-how, and involve your team in relevant R&D or improvement projects to ensure high serviceability
- Drive initiatives to increase efficiency of on-site work and in the back-office to achieve competitive hourly rates and avoid under-absorption. Standardize and improve back-office processes from offering to execution
- Implement global strategic initiatives in Field Operation and Training
- Represent Site Services in the Management Team of Service

Your background
- Bachelor or Master's degree in Engineering, with additional education in management or economics
- 5+ years of experience in managerial role in industrial company, preferably in service, operations or similar
- Good understanding of Service business, experience in Field Operation and knowhow of GIS and GCB technology of advantage
- Excellent leadership personality, with outstanding organizational, analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
- International experience and intercultural sensitivity
- Team player with exceptional ability to motivate people
- Proficiency in English (written and oral), German of advantage. Any other language is a plus
