Mission statement:
Provide strategic direction, leadership, management and coordination of the engineering function across business units. Drive the performance of the engineering, function performance to ensure that all engineering activities meet the required safety, integrity, financial and contractual requirements. Initiate and drive continuous improvement activities across the function.
Your responsibilities:
- You will act as member of the business unit management team providing strategic and operational guidance to support ongoing development of the business, serve as an escalation point for individual and systemic engineering issues within the organization.
- You will manage the customer relationships at senior level, develop long-term relationship with key customers, work with the customer to shape and deliver solutions - seek feedback and innovate with the customer to drive and deliver improvement, work with business development to target new, present new technology and innovation at conferences, client events and oversee contractual work within own business units, conduct regular progress reviews, identify and manage contract risks.
- You will create and manage implementation of long-term strategic plans which define business strategy resource requirements, oversee planning and control process in the engineering teams, conduct regular reviews to ensure the execution of tenders/projects according to agreed targets in terms of schedule, quality, cost and customer satisfaction, monitor quality metrics, identify opportunities for improvement and oversee improvement activities. You will create and implement strategies to ensure that business risks are identified and managed, and business opportunities are exploited as a part of business planning, collaborate with the supply chain function to develop strategic partnerships with key suppliers of services and equipment needed for engineering.
- You will guide the business in building engineering/operational capability through training, mentoring and shadowing programs, support business unit in establishing and deploying required frameworks/processes, conduct and follows-up certification process jointly with business, ensure processes are in place to capture and share best practices and operational experiences, support global business unit strategy with defining concepts for business unit-specific Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), compliance and supply chain management and developing processes and tools and conduct management review to guide operation of continuous improvement activities.
- You will ensure (with HR support) that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled and directed, guide, motivate, coach and develop direct and indirect subordinates, within HR polices, contribute to management review of the business unit's financial, performance, along with other business unit management team members., formulate financial plans and budget estimate for the unit/business area, oversee adherence to these plan and estimate.

Your background:
- Minimum Bachelor of Engineering with a good experience in power industries and substation business.
- Master of Engineering will be added advantage.
- 10 to15 years Engineering experience in design and engineering of Sub Station, working experience in global organization.
- Good knowledge of engineering tools and process.
- Should have handled cross country units and experience in implementation of new process and initiatives.
- Proficiency in English Communication.
