As a Global Category Specialist, you will be part of High Voltage organization and report to the Head of Category Management High Voltage Products.
High Voltage Products offering a wide range of high-voltage products up to 1,200-kilovolt (kV) for AC and 1,100-kilovolt for DC. We help to enhance the safety, reliability and efficiency of power networks while minimizing environmental impact with following primary offerings for switchgears, circuit-breakers, generator circuit breakers, power quality products, surge arresters, disconnectors, instrument transformers and high-voltage service.
You will focus on implementation and adherence to SCM strategies, processes and follow up in the factories to ensure material availability, delivery performance and cost competitiveness within Global Product Group Service, where dedicated SCM support is required.

Your involvement:
Project Management
- Lead and execute Global SCM Service Projects i.e. Supplier reduction, supplier improvement
- Responsible for the SCM activities to be delivered according to the Gate Model.
- Regularly attend the project meetings.
- Create and maintain SCM project documentation for the gates, submitting deliverables to the GPG SCM for approval prior each gate.
- Organize SCM project team meetings where needed, define and assign actions to SCM colleagues to ensure that the project team receives the SCM input and contributions on time and with adequate quality.
- Follow up on open actions at the gate meetings and ensure all open points are timely closed.
- Support SCM processes and tool improvements, best practice sharing, benchmarks and assessments.
Performance Target
- Act as interface between the R&D project team and SCM stakeholders, ensuring that the project information is adequately shared between the project team and the various SCM stakeholders.
- Provide estimate of costs, lead time and quality for key components in order to assess gaps against initial target.
- Work with the SCM colleagues and the project team to optimize costs and quality at all stages of the project. Including development of investments, test related costs, packaging, transportation, logistics, import duties as well as currency impact.
- Regularly update and perfect the current cost situation as the project progress. Send warning signals to the project team if cost is deviating from the given target and agree on corrective actions to get back on track.
Supplier / Material Identification and Selection
- Support the development and implementation of regional/global sourcing strategies in close alignment with the regional/global Category Managers.
- Develop SCM sourcing concepts (number and type of supplier needed by category, make-or buy comparisons, high vs low cost scenarios, new material etc.). Consult GPG SCM for approval.
- Share sourcing concept to relevant stakeholders such as BU or HUB Category Mgrs. Agree on sourcing actions, who's responsible and deadlines for completion.
- Consult Category Managers before placing orders for prototypes.
- Work with Category Managers and Supplier Quality Engineers for supplier selection.
- Identify the need of new supplier developments for critical materials.
- Collect Service Forecast demand and communicate to Global Category and/or directly to suppliers
- Aligning with PSC (Product Service Center) SCM regarding annual negotiation (Price, Capacity, Lead time)
- Define a clear Order Process with the Feeder Factories
- Support HVS Units regarding evaluate, qualifying and onboarding Sub-Contractor
Product Release and Hand-Over
- Ensure that all project relevant SCM deliverables according to the Gate Model are finalized.
- Prepare training package and plan for handover to receiving unit.
- Execute trainings to relevant SCM functions and hand over project documentation to HBU SCM relevant team(s).
Your background:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in Supply Chain Management preferably in Category Management or Strategical Sourcing in multinational companies.
- Strong understanding of procurement principles and best practices.
- Proven ability to develop and execute procurement strategies.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
- CIPS or ISM CPSM certification is an advantage.
- Excellent analytical skills with the capability to transform data into short and long-term plans.
- Fluent in English, and other languages are an advantage.
- Flexibility to travel up to 25%.
