Global Category Manager for Transformers and Machines

Västerås, Sweden

We are looking for a Global Category Manager for Transformers and Machines. In this role within the Supply Chain Management (SCM), you will lead the development, planning, and implementation of the global category strategy with a focus on optimizing costs, quality, delivery, and reliability of suppliers and supplied products. Additionally, you will integrate SCM into the value chain, managing supplier relationships, and providing market information for strategic decision making in addition to competitive sourcing.

Your responsibilities

  • You will implement effective sourcing strategies in line with business strategy, ensuring that the supply base has the capability and capacity to meet current and future business needs.
  • You will be accountable for supplier forecasting, cost budgeting, and savings forecasting and minimizes risk related to quality and financial exposure by defining the supply base in accordance with quality and commercial procedures, as well as company guidelines.
  • You will negotiate global agreements with suppliers, including the renewal of price lists, terms, and create conditions implement cost-cutting programs and processes to achieve financial goals.
  • You will conduct benchmark studies for the category team and specific sourcing initiatives, such as cost baseline, should cost modeling, and global price database.
  • Effectively communicate and align with stakeholders on the progress of your category strategy and initiatives, ensuring that all relevant parties understand the strategies and execute processes accordingly.
  • Define process governance and collaborate with procurement to create project sourcing strategies and you will co-ordinate with team members, whether or not you are the disciplinary head.

Your background

  • You have a Master's or Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
  • Proven work experience in power transformer supply chain and project management.
  • Strong sense of ownership and entrepreneurial mindset and technical interest and ability to solve complex problems.
  • You are a team player, passion, structured, with a result-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent communication and networking skills, and also strong skills in problem solving.
  • You are fluent in English, and other languages are desirable.
