Mission Statement:
This role offers you to execute project for engineering disciplines with medium to high complexity within the Grid Edge Solutions, Microgrids and Battery Energy Storage business.
Coordinate and execute engineering / commissioning assignments across several disciplines within the project scope and value chain - efficiently, cost-effectively and in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, safety requirements and business objectives.
The primary responsibilities will be field service / Commissioning of Microgrids and BESS Systems supplied by Hitachi Energy and project engineering activities across diverse applications (e.g., Mining, Oil & Gas, grid scale storage, Commercial & Light Industrial).

This role required a 70% - 80% of Travel time to support project in commissioning and service the install base.
Main Accountabilities
- You will be involved in a comprehensive review of all project documentation to confirm their adherence to quality and conformity standards. The engineer is adept at anticipating and resolving novel and critical problems, as well as addressing any exceptional project conditions. As an authority in the field, the Commissioning Engineer employs advanced techniques and methodologies to achieve project objectives.
- You will assist in preparing proposal/presentation of engineering projects/programs (provision of bills of materials, estimated engineering hours, etc.).
- You will support Contract Managers in issuing claims (new/change in scope of work, cost impact, time impact, risk quantifications, etc.). Provide quality solutions as per customer requirements and industry standards and delivers within budget, quality, and contract. Manage technical queries and design solutions proposals and implementation. Ensures adherence to safety standards and mitigates potential risks.
- You will create work plans and cost estimates in own area of responsibility Review and approve scope, budget and schedule for assignments and ensures quality deliverables on time and within targeted cost. Improve effectiveness of work plan in collaboration with other functions.
- You will create and execute strategies for risk and opportunity management in one's area of responsibility. Identifies and manages contract risks taking preventive/corrective actions to resolve any contract/quality/program/cost issues. Report any outstanding issues to management, along with recommendations for resolution.
- You will collaborate with the customer to shape and deliver solutions and seeks customer feedback to drive and deliver improvements. Attend project meetings and presents specific aspects of engineering assignments.
- You will collaborate with the Supply Chain function to ensure that technical requirements for equipment or services are communicated and agreed on with potential suppliers. Provide technical evaluation of supplier proposals and accepts as fit for purpose supplied equipment or services.
- You will represent function in standardization committees and in communication and conferences pertaining to broad aspects of engineering assignments. Act as technical specialist/adviser to senior management. Collaborate and network within Hitachi Energy and externally.
- You will review, develop, and document quality standards, processes, tools, and techniques. Ensure that engineering activities comply with required safety regulations and contractual requirements. Contributes towards continuous improvements of processes and tools for engineering efficiency.
- You must ensure safe working procedures and practices are always followed including the wearing and maintenance of assigned Personal Protective Equipment; attendance at required health, safety and environment training, report injury, incidents, hazards and near miss events. Model safe work behavior in all aspects of work and actively identify hazards and risk controls.

Your background:
- Tertiary or degree qualifications in Engineering (electrical), or equivalent
- High level of technical aptitude in power systems, power generation, electrical engineering
- More than 7 Years of hands-on experience in engineering execution and delivery of large power system-based projects in Battery energy storage or other power generation field.
- Exposure to heavy engineering segments, Mining, oil and gas or heavy industry.
- Advanced computer skills including engineering software applications.
- Proactive and highly organized including timeliness and ability to meet deadlines and changing priorities.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
- Highly flexible and demonstrable critical thinking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and high diligence.
