General Information:
You will carry out HSE activities to eliminate or reduce environmental impact risks within company premise and to ensure the normal operation of the company in accordance with national occupational health, safety, environmental and fire related laws and regulations and company HSE requirements.
Your Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the Environmental permits of the factory: Title V - Air permits, Stormwater permits, Wastewater permits, also including monitoring the parameters to ensure that the factories are following the requirements of the requirements of the permits and lead the renewal process.
- Assuring the organization's compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal HSE regulations under your scope of responsibility.
- Help maintain and execute the HSE management systems and carry out inspections and audits, analyze the results, and manage the corrective actions.
- Ensure the effectiveness of corrective actions to ensure prevention of reoccurrence.
- Managing the incident reporting, investigation, and analysis program for your area of responsibility.
- Analyzing and monitoring trends regarding incidents, inspections, audits, and corrective measures and keep the HSE Manager informed.
- Governmental Environmental reports: Tier 2, Toxic release inventory, Emissions inventory questionnaire, Hazmat report, SPCC pan, SWPPP, etc.
- Organizing activities to promote employee and supervisor awareness, increase their participation and encourage the adoption of environmental impact behaviors.
- Responsible for assisting in HSE strategic planning to help move the organization towards achieving all KPI's as well as target and objectives.
- Assist in up skilling the organization regarding risk assessments and risk mitigation techniques.

- Internal Environmental reports: Quarterly performance questionnaire, Annual water survey, Annual environmental management questionnaire, etc.
- Deployment of the Environmental and Sustainability Strategy at the site level.
- Lead the action plan to reduce the risk of oil leakages/spills and any environmental impacts.
- Assist in developing and enforcing Environmental and Sustainability policies.
- Supporting the process engineers with the environmental legislation applicable for new projects, e.g., paint booths, baghouses, use of chemicals, etc.
- Participate in process excellence / kaizen events.
- Keeping adequate records of environmental data and utilize trending and analysis.
- Help develop environmental trainings (like Environmental Protection Rules and Environmental Essentials) and deliver to factory team members.
- Represent HSE requirements and provide input during process change management reviews.

Your Background:
- Required:
- Two to Five years of relevant HSE experience, preferably in manufacturing.
- Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
- Problem solving and decision-making skills
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office and plant specific software systems
- Team player and approachable
- Preferred:
- Professional certifications (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM)
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Chemistry, Environmental or Occupational Health Sciences.
- Experience with behavior-based safety programs and culture change initiatives
- Experience and/or familiarity with ISO45001 & ISO 14001
- High comfort level with digitized management tools.
- Experience with represented workforce
- Ability to operate within and support matrixed leadership and functional teams.
