Hitachi Energy is seeking an Associate Project Engineer for
its Bland, Virginia location. The purpose of this role is to coordinate,
and support customer orders once released from Marketing as well
as to interface with and support the needs of Hitachi Energy
customers and their orders. This role is responsible for
ensuring accuracy of order information and therefore must have the
ability to anticipate the customers' need through proven listening and
understanding skills that have been developed and demonstrated. In
addition, this role will be responsible for processing transformer
orders and will work closely with the customers and several

work with engineering, scheduling manufacturing and QA to define
requirements.
Your Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support to customers via telephone, electronically or
face to face - Process change orders using the Factory Order Entry Program
- Log and enforce Customer Complaint Resolution Process (CCRP) to track customer complaints and drive corrective action
- Participate in customer visits and training as needed
- Manage assigned backlog for timely drawing submittals and returns and product releases. Drive requests and unresolved issues to the designated source for expedient resolution.
- Work with in-house marketing reps, front end sales and customers to define scope and processes
- Articulate with strong communication skills and enjoy spending time with people to understand their specific issues and desires in order to identify innovative solutions for established and new customers.
- Project Management: Lead the planning, execution, and monitoring of projects, ensuring adherence to project objectives, timelines, and budgets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, production, quality assurance, and supply chain, to ensure seamless project integration and successful outcomes.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, identify critical path activities, and proactively address potential bottlenecks or risks.
- Monitor project progress, track key performance indicators, and prepare regular status reports for stakeholders.
- Manufacturing Process Optimization: Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for improvement in terms of efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance production efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize resource utilization.
- Quality Assurance: Collaborate with the quality assurance team to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and customer requirements.
- Participate in design reviews and provide input on manufacturability and quality considerations.
- Investigate and resolve manufacturing-related quality issues, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for process optimization, cost reduction, and productivity enhancement within the manufacturing environment.
- Lead or participate in cross-functional improvement projects, applying tools such as Six Sigma, Kaizen, and 5S methodologies.

Your Background:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field (Business, Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or similar). Bachelor's degree and/or 2 to 5 years of experience as a Project Coordinator or Project Manager
- Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
- Proven experience in manufacturing project management is a plus.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines.
