High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) technology is used for energy transmission over long distances and to connect electricity networks with minimal losses. In addition to energy transfer, HVDC technology can also alleviate electrical quality problems and can contribute to the stabilization of connected power grids for offshore wind power or long-distance underground / underwater transmissions. Hitachi Energy is a leading supplier of HVDC solutions globally and has an exciting Corporate Education Engineer or Professional Work Experience Internship opportunity, primarily working at the East West Interconnector (EWIC) HVDC Link at Portan Converter Station, along with other Hitachi Energy HVDC customer sites supporting existing and future HVDC service customers in Ireland and the UK.
