Responsibilities

  • Be the point of contact towards external civil designer. Manage the design review meetings (DRM) and bid review meetings (BRM) for EPC and EP deliveries, in which there is a Civil Design interface.
  • Review tender technical specification and highlight any risks, opportunities, deviations, or clarifications related to civil design.
  • Participate on the contract review with Plant Lead Engineer and interpret the technical specification for the projects and confirm the civil design scope of deliveries and highlight deviations compared to tender specifications.
  • Responsible for the Civil Design deliveries within budget, scope, and time plan.
  • Responsible for defining the scope of work (SoW) for the department and the Civil Designer with regards to engineering budget and project time schedule.
  • Make sure that the Civil Design is done with consideration to applicable local standards, laws, and regulations.
  • Responsible for the bill of quantities (BoQ) from the Civil Design 3D model.
  • Lead and coordinate all civil design disciplines to facilitate an integrated 3D design as specified by the departments processes and relevant technical specifications.
  • Make sure that the Civil Design is done with consideration to local standards, laws, and regulations.
  • Secure input data and evaluate impact/consequences based on the change management process if input data is changed. Document changes in a traceable way and follow up that the design is done accordingly.
  • In the case of project specific new technical solutions, the Civil Design Lead needs to get the confirmation on the new design from the TA/specialist.
  • Review the project document list (PDL) and customer document list (CDL).
  • Review the deliveries from the Civil Designer to secure the quality.
  • Responsible for the design review meetings (DRM) being conducted according to internal processes and protocols as well as documenting actions and questions from meeting in minutes of meeting.
  • Constructability and HSE aspects should be considered during the design development.
  • Share and incorporate feedback and lessons learned from the project with the rest of the department members and to the respective part of the organization.

Qualifications / Background

  • Bachelors or master's in civil design engineering with a minimum work experience of 5+ years
  • Good knowledge of the relevant international Standards/Codes - British Codes (BS), ACI is a must have. Other codes like Eurocodes, DIN, ASTM or equivalent shall be an advantage.
  • HV / EHV Switchyard equipment foundations which include Power transformers, Reactors, switching equipment, Gantry and Towers along with drainage and cable trenches, GIS Building foundations, Office/Storage buildings foundation.
  • Shall be able to review civil drawings and documents to fulfil the local country regulations.
  • Hands on experience in BOQ for civil foundation, superstructure, PEB structures associated with substations /switchyards etc.
  • Knowledge of Civil/Steel/MEP materials is an added advantage.
  • Technical knowledge of Steel structure and reinforced concrete structures - BIM/ACC, Staad, AutoCAD/Revit knowledge required.
  • Experience in substation design and industrial structures.
  • Experience in the field of High voltage Switchyard equipment foundations and structures, Include power transformer and reactor foundations.
  • Experience in Steel structures like Gantry and tower structures and foundations.
  • Experience in estimation of civil foundation, superstructures, PEB structures.
  • Knowledge of process structuring & process management
