The Hitachi Energy Indian Operations Center (INOPC) is a competence center with around 2600+ skilled engineers who focus on tendering, engineering, planning, procurement, project Management, functional system testing, installation supervision, documentation and commissioning.
Mission Statement :
CAD Designer is responsible for taking ownership of CAD modelling and detailing tasks, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to project specifications. CAD Designer will be reporting to team manager of INOPC PGTR Engineering & Technology team
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive guidelines on CAD, PLM classification, and the transfer of data to SAP
- Coordinate job execution with cross-functional teams, lead local designers, assign tasks, and execute technical jobs.
- Offer technical support leveraging CAD/PLM expertise for Insulation & Component products
- Train engineering teams globally and monitor the integrity of CAD documentation, ensuring correct user access and customization on global platforms.
- Propose governance solutions for change notifications and conduct regular follow-ups to ensure compliance.
- Contribute to R&D projects aimed at extending existing platforms/products
- Propose and implement CAD automation solutions to enhance efficiency and reduce execution time.
- Collaborate with product owners, designers and other stakeholders to understand requirements and identify opportunities for automation.
- Take ownership of CAD modelling and detailing tasks, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to project specifications.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in electrical/mechanical engineering or related field with 6-10 years of experience
- Exposure to use of 3D CAD modelling tool Creo Parametric
- CAD automation, Pro-program skills
- Basic programming skills
- Product Configuration knowledge
- Hands on experience in PLM (Windchill)
- Strong understanding of mechanical/Electrical design principles and CAD software functionality
- Knowledge of relevant international standards (ISO, ANSI, ASME)
- Strong analytical skills, experience in data analysis and management
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with business, product owners, developers, and end users from different areas and different regions/cultures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with Insulation & Components products is a plus.
- Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
