Mission Statement:

The Mechanical Design Engineer responsible for the success of all assigned projects and works within a cross-functional team across the organization. Applies research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines. A Senior Professional (P3) applies advanced knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience. Responsibilities may include: Managing projects / processes, working independently with limited supervision.

Your responsibilities

  • Demonstrate knowledge in advanced high-end CAD software Creo.
  • Experience in CAD automation, parametric modeling would be an advantage.
  • Exposure to Product data management (PDM)/ Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tool Windchill
  • Knowledge on Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T), Tolerance Stack up Analysis, Design for Assembly and Manufacturing.
  • Evaluates, selects, and applies standard techniques and procedures while preparing manufacturing & assembly drawings
  • Bill of materials preparation, manufacturing & assembly drawing.
  • As a part of job, shall effectively interact and coordinate with Product owners, Suppliers & Engineering teams located globally
  • Solid hands-on experience with 3D model/PLM tools like Creo 4.0, Windchill, and SAP.
  • Excellent hands-on experience in drawing, BOM, GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis.

Your background

  • B.Tech./M.Tech. (Mechanical or Electrical).
  • Design & development of high voltage switchgear (5 to 10 years). -
  • Basic knowledge of switchgear product.
  • Hands-on experience in mechanism design & simulation.
  • Knowledge and understanding of high-voltage products are desirable.
  • knowledge and understanding of various IEC / IEEE / ANSI / IS / ISO / DIN / IP / NEMA standards.
  • Hands-on experience in FEA tools - Ansys, Creo Simulate, Creo Mechanism.
  • Working knowledge of design process/quality tools like DFMEA, DFM, DFA, DMAIC, DOE, etc.
  • Knowledge of product change management process.
  • Manufacturing knowledge (casting, machining, forging, welding, bending, injection molding etc.).
  • Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
