Discovery team is a passionate team focusing on discovering new user matches and delivering user generated content. We are looking for a backend engineer to lead plenty of exciting innovation initiatives! In this role, you'll have the unique opportunity to contribute to a company with a global footprint while working on a small and agile team that can impact the user experience in a meaningful way!

What You'll Do:
- Develop exciting new Tinder user discovery features
- Help us scale to meet the ever-growing Tinder user base and global audience
- Collaborate with various technical and functional teams across our company
- Own all aspects of software engineering and product development
- Participate in architecture, design, and code reviews
- Recruit, encourage and develop other team members
We're looking for:
- 4+ years of software development experience
- Experience designing and building low latency distributed backend systems at scale
- Strong knowledge of backend architecture and when to make tradeoffs
- Passion to solve unique and challenging problems
- Strong communication skills
- An advocate for good code quality and best engineering practices
Bonus points if you have:
- Experience with content delivery solutions
- Experience with cloud computing systems such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
- Programming experience in Node.js/Typescript and Java.
- Experience with AWS, Kafka and NoSQL Databases such as DynamoDB or Redis
- Experience building APIs to power mobile and web applications
