Hims & Hers is seeking a Director of Government & Regulatory Affairs to lead and execute its federal policy and regulatory engagement strategy. This role will focus on interacting with federal agencies, the Administration, and the White House to shape policies that impact the company’s business and industry. Reporting to the Vice President of Policy & Regulatory Initiatives, the Director will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to advocate for policies that support innovation, access, patient choice, affordability, and regulatory clarity.
The candidate will have experience in government affairs and public policy working in disruptive industries, telehealth, pharmacy regulation, or healthcare compliance. Must have experience engaging with or working in federal regulatory agencies, Congressional Committees, the White House, and/or policy-focused Administration officials (e.g. Domestic Policy Council). Knowledge of health IT, prescription drug regulation, and digital health policies, and familiarity with OMB review processes, budget policy, and federal reimbursement structures are a plus.
You Will:
- Develop and implement strategies to engage with federal agencies (e.g., FDA, FTC, HHS, CMS, DEA) on regulatory and policy matters.
- Build and maintain relationships with key White House offices, including the Domestic Policy Council, National Economic Council, and Office of Management and Budget (OMB).
- Monitor and analyze regulatory proposals, executive actions, and agency rulemakings to assess their impact on the business and lead the development of company responses.
- Develop and advocate for company policy positions in regulatory proceedings, federal advisory committees, and public comment opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal teams (legal, compliance, product, medical, operations) to assess the implications of federal regulations and identify advocacy priorities.
- Draft regulatory comment letters, policy white papers, and engagement materials to advance company priorities.
- Identify and engage with relevant working groups, advisory panels, and federal task forces to position the company as a thought leader in digital health and telemedicine.
- Work closely with external consultants and policy advisors to maximize engagement with federal agencies and administration officials.
- Manage an internal tracking system for regulatory engagement and agency interactions.
- Advise internal teams on compliance implications and strategic business decisions influenced by federal policies.
You Have:
- Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Government Administration, Health Policy or other relevant field
- 10+ years working in federal policy or government affairs, preferably in disruptive emerging industries, as well as experience working in the federal government or Congress in policy developing and engagement roles.
- Experience in federal government affairs and trade association engagement, with a focus on agency and administration advocacy
- Expertise in engaging with FDA, FTC, HHS, CMS, and/or DEA on regulatory and policy issues is preferred.
- Strong understanding of federal rulemaking processes, executive orders, and administrative actions.
- Experience drafting and/or editing public comments, regulatory filings, and strategic policy documents.
- Expert communicator with strong writing and editing skills
- Strong organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to build relationships across government agencies, White House policy offices, and industry coalitions.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex regulatory issues into actionable strategies
