What's the role?

We are looking for a talented UX/UI Designer to join our multidisciplinary team and take responsibility for developing and delivering the HERE Style Editor, our application for HERE customers looking to create custom map styles for their web, mobile, or IVI experiences.

This role is part of the Location Services team within the global Product & Technology organization. Based in India, you’ll be part of an international, cross-functional group that develops our Location Services products, including the HERE SDK and Maps API for JavaScript.

You will collaborate with a diverse team of developers, architects, cartographers, and UX designers. Your input will be crucial in iterating and executing our various product roadmaps, leveraging your expertise in Interaction Design, Visual Design, and Content Design. The ideal candidate should have an eye for clean and artful design, possess superior UX and UI skills, and be able to translate high-level requirements

into interaction flows and artifacts, transforming them into functional and beautiful user interfaces. You’ll be working with a team of highly talented, creative professionals at the forefront of client-side

solutions for HERE, focusing on areas ranging from Automotive to Fleet Management and Supply Chains. 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage the end-to-end iterative design process for the HERE Style Editor, including wireframing, prototyping, and UI component development.
• Turn complex topics into easy-to-digest stories and creative concepts that deliver impactful interactions.
• Create wireframes, user flows and site maps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas.
• Develop and maintain consistent UI components, adhering to the HERE Design System.
• Ensure the UI is visually appealing, user-friendly, and functional across various platforms (in-car, web, and mobile use cases).
• Execute from concept to final hand-off to engineering.
• Work closely with other designers and developers to understand dependencies and limitations, fostering an integrated approach to UX requirements.
• Independently manage day-to-day design activities, identifying problems and solutions to improve map styling workflows.
• Present and defend designs and key milestones to peers and stakeholders.
• Build strong relationships across HERE functions, including Design, Product, and Development, to ensure a cohesive vision for User Experience.
• Become a trusted and key internal stakeholder for the HERE Style Editor.

Who are you?

• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior UX role, ideally in a B2B environment.
• Bachelor’s degree or significant experience delivering UX with meaningful business impact.
• A strong collaborator who works well with a multidisciplinary team, especially comfortable side-by-side with developers.
• Endlessly curious about customers – their needs and pain points.
• Ability to think laterally and provide innovative UX that simplifies complex technical dependencies.
• Experienced with using prototype tools (Figma.)
• Flexible and able to successfully navigate ambiguity and succeed in a rapidly changing, fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with multiple priorities.
• Experience with A/B testing, iteration, and fostering an environment where people can experiment and learn.
• Excellent relationship-building, interpersonal and influencing skills across functions and responsibilities. 
• Fluent in English (verbal and written)
• High level of awareness of the competitive landscape to keep HERE ahead of the curve, relevant and innovative. 
• Experience with high-density UI is a big plus
• Passion for Maps / Cartography
