JOB OVERVIEW:

Collaborates with the Compensation, Benefits and HRIS teams in the execution of single or multiple projects, with strong emphasis on the compensation function, e.g., projects related to salary administration, the year-end process, bonus administration, job evaluation and salary grades and ranges. Participates in the development of the projects, monitors ongoing progress and works with the team to ensure timely and effective completion of the projects. Works closely with compensation, benefits, staffing, payroll and HR partners.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages activities related to job evaluation, both on-going and expansion into global sector. Works with team to plan and organize project objectives, timeline and strategic activities to ensure timely and effective project completion.
  • Conducts market pricing and analyses in support of salary decision-making. Provides guidance on pay decisions, policy and guideline interpretation and job evaluation including the design of creative solutions to specific compensation-related issues.
  • Manages projects in the compensation function including compensation architecture development, salary review and administration, bonus administration, long-term equity administration and salary grades and ranges.
  • Manages projects in Benefits and HRIS as needed to support department initiatives.
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required.
  • Works closely with Leadership and Operations to provide input to compensation strategy opportunities and challenges.

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
  • Minimum of seven years' experience in Compensation, specific experience in incentive plan administration, survey preparation & analysis, job evaluation, salary structure and incentive plan development, or the equivalent required. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, including high degree of competence in spreadsheet and database software, especially in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint).
  • Incentive compensation plan design and administration, sales contest design and administration, goal/quota setting, product launch planning/support, and plan fairness and effectiveness evaluation
  • Knowledge of global compensation and IEP methodology

WORK EXPERIENCE:

Typically, 10 or more years of increasing responsibility and complexity in terms of any applicable professional experience; 1 or more years of management experience.

SCOPE:

Typically manage a moderately complex section of a department, a small department, large process or multiple smaller processes. Make recommendations for executing on plans in accordance with the policies and directives of senior management. Accountable for meeting the operating objectives of the department. Provide guidance to staff within the latitude of established company policies. Determine how to use resources to meet schedules and goals. Assure adherence to and manage approved budgets. May play a role in high-level projects that have an impact on the sub-function's future direction.

COMPLEXITY:

Work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires in-depth evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends. Act as advisor to subordinate(s) to meet schedules and/or resolve problems. Full knowledge of multiple areas within sub-function derived from experience in non-management roles. Focus on executing goals in an accurate and timely manner.

STRATEGY:

Implement strategy to further the sub-function's larger goals through the work of professional staff. Recommend changes to policies and establish procedures that affect the sub-function.

SUPERVISION:

Manage work and goals of professional level staff performing non-routine work or who manage a process or system. May have subordinate supervisors.

INTERACTION:

Interact with senior management and/or customers, normally involving matters between functional areas and/or other company divisions or units. Often must lead a collaborative effort among members of a project team.

MANAGEMENT DUTIES:

Typically can hire, terminate, or promote; another level of approval may be required. Makes decisions on salary increases, performance reviews, disciplinary actions, etc.

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:

Typically, to advance to a new job level, TSMs must demonstrate professional behavior and should consistently be at the high-end of meets expectations or consistently exceed expectations.

PREFERRED EDUCATION:

Typically, a Bachelor's Degree or global equivalent in related discipline. Master's degree or global equivalent a plus.

TRAVEL / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Travel typically less than 10%. Office environment. No special physical demands required.

The posted range for this position is $95,990 to $149,985 which is the expected starting base salary range for an employee who is new to the role to fully proficient in the role. Many factors go into determining employee pay within the posted range including prior experience, current skills, location/labor market, internal equity, etc.

This position is eligible for a [bonus/incentive] not reflected in the posted range.
