Healthfirst's 2025 Summer Trailblazer Internship is a 10-week paid program beginning on June 2, 2025. This is an immersive and interactive learning experience, that lays a foundation for continued leadership development. Interns do impactful work, collaborating with other interns, employees, and business leaders to solve current business problems and deliver solutions. For nearly 30 years, Healthfirst has been serving New Yorkers. We helped pioneer the value-based healthcare model-where hospitals and physicians are paid based on patient outcomes-because our company was founded on the belief that insurers need to be true partners in the health system.
Duties & Responsibilities:

- Assist in monitoring system performance, application health, and incident management.
- Help identify and resolve production issues, working with cross-functional teams.
- Support in tracking incidents, documenting issues, and ensuring timely resolution.
- Assist in developing scripts or tools to improve efficiency in monitoring and reporting.
- Update and create knowledge base articles for troubleshooting steps and system processes.
- Work with infrastructure, engineering, and business teams to understand and support production systems.
- Provide recommendations for optimizing system performance and incident response processes.
- Research and investigate data issues. Develop a deep understanding of the relationship between business process, systems and the underlying data
Minimum Qualifications:
- Passion for solving challenging problems using technology
- Basic understanding of IT infrastructure, databases, or cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.).
- Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, Shell, SQL) is a plus.
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Experience with object-oriented programming and ability to learn new programming languages
- Proficiency with SQL - 2+ years experience in a professional or academic setting
Healthfirst Internship Program Requirements:
- Undergraduate students must be a junior or senior at an accredited institution or have graduated within 12 months of the program. Graduate students must be enrolled at an accredited institution or have graduated within 12 months of the program.
- Will not require sponsorship for employment
- Eligible to work in the U.S.
- Must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA from an accredited school
Hiring Range:
- Greater New York City Area (NY, NJ, CT residents): $39,208 - $52,000
- All Other Locations (within approved locations): $34,091 - $49,920
As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, licenses and certifications, and any other factors Healthfirst deems pertinent to the hiring decision.

The hiring range is defined as the lowest and highest salaries that Healthfirst in "good faith" would pay to a new hire, or for a job promotion, or transfer into this role.
