Description and Requirements
The Financial Reporting Analyst is responsible for the preparation, review and delivery of Healthfirst external reporting of financial statements using Statutory Accounting Principles which includes the preparation and the review of the statutory journal entries. This position will also ensure that all reporting submissions are filed on time, meet the highest standards and include comprehensive documentation.
Hybrid Work Schedule
- This consists of reporting to our 100 Church Street, NYC office 3 days per week
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prepare, review, and deliver Healthfirst reporting of financial statements using Statutory Accounting Principles.
- Ensure all reporting submissions are filed on time, meet the highest standards and are supported by comprehensive documentation.
- Perform the GAAP to STAT reconciliation process and Fluctuation comparative analysis including preparing journal entries required.
- Assist in the mapping of the State Categories of Service (COS)/Data Warehouse/General Ledger Workday interfaces to align medical costs in financial reports.
- Assist in responses to Regulatory inquiries.
- Ability to interpret complex financial data and identify patterns and trends.
- Connect with other departments to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Assist with ad hoc analysis requests from management, auditors and various departments
- Automate the report generation and optimize the use of Workday to enhance financial reporting functions.

Minimum Qualifications
- Must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or business-related
- Experience in financial reporting & analysis to include balance sheet and income statement analysis
- Proficient in using advanced MS Excel functions to include pivots, sum-ifs, and VLOOKUP's
- Familiarity in using SQL (creating queries, working with large datasets, & perform data analysis
- Familiarity with any accounting system (Workday, Microsoft Dynamics AX or Globe Software Atlas)
- Experience with creating and updating PowerPoint presentations
- Knowledge in Statutory Accounting and Reporting principles
Hiring Range:
- Greater New York City Area (NY, NJ, CT residents): $67,200 - $97,155
- All Other Locations (within approved locations): $59,800 - $88,910
As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, licenses and certifications, and any other factors Healthfirst deems pertinent to the hiring decision.
