Description and Requirements
The Pharmacy Department at Healthfirst manages the pharmacy benefit and drives initiatives to manage drug spend, reduce medical cost, and achieve top quality in medication related quality measures. The pharmacy team works in collaboration with the Pharmacy Benefit Manager as well as various divisions within and outside the organization to maintain a top-quality benefit at a reasonable cost. The Clinical Pharmacist is responsible for working closely with the pharmacy leadership team to support network providers to improve quality and reduce pharmacy cost. This position will be provider facing and requires local travel throughout New York City and Long Island.

- Establishes positive, collaborative, and consultative relationships with partner hospitals, community network providers, population health teams and community pharmacies.
- Provides ongoing strategic recommendations to decrease pharmacy costs and improve formulary compliance at pharmacy, provider, and hospital level.
- Collaborates with internal and external teams to review outlier drug trends and identify opportunities to educate providers on cost effective drug therapies to yield pharmacy savings.
- Communicates formulary changes and opportunities to achieve optimal prescribing through formulary compliance and optimizing generic dispensing.
- Supports and helps implement comprehensive, provider-specific plans to increase quality ratings for pharmacy specific Part D Patient Safety and HEDIS measures.
- Effectively communicate with various healthcare professionals internally and externally for successful collaboration and implementation of initiatives.
- Act as a resource to provide pharmacist and provider education, best practices, and training related to pharmacy quality measures.
- Assists in the development and presentation of educational materials for providers and pharmacists.
- Serves as the engagement liaison between Healthfirst, network providers and pharmacies to triage pharmacy benefits, member grievances or pharmacy related inquiries.
- Participates in monthly or quarterly meetings as required, including material preparation and updates.
- Builds relationships with community pharmacies and support them in various performance metrics including adherence and patient satisfaction.
- Additional duties as necessary.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Registered pharmacist with a state license in good standing
- Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Ability to travel throughout New York City and Long Island
Preferred Qualifications:
- PharmD degree
- 2+ years managed care pharmacy experience, residency experience, or 5+ years community pharmacy experience
- Medicare Stars or HEDIS experience
- Provider-facing experience
- Academic detailing experience
- Medicare Part D formulary management
- Data analytics experience

Hiring Range:
- Greater New York City Area (NY, NJ, CT residents): $100,900 - $145,775
- All Other Locations (within approved locations): $86,500 - $128,690
As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, licenses and certifications, and any other factors Healthfirst deems pertinent to the hiring decision.

The hiring range is defined as the lowest and highest salaries that Healthfirst in "good faith" would pay to a new hire, or for a job promotion, or transfer into this role.
