Program dates: June 2nd, 2025 – End date: August 7th, 2025
Location: Hybrid (three days per week on-site (Tu-Th) in our Portland office with Monday remote). Company laptop will be provided for the duration of the program.
Weekly schedule: 28 hours per week, 9:00am-5:00pm, with a one-hour lunch break.

Position Purpose:
The Publicity and Marketing Intern will work with the broader Marketing and Publicity Department to learn skills and fundamentals of creating and implementing book campaigns. The Publicity and Marketing Intern will work with the team on social media content, research for media coverage, pitch material creation, departmental system maintenance, and other departmental projects as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work with Team Social Media to create seasonal and book-specific social media campaigns.
- Help Schedule posts and content for social media channels; flag issues for follow up
- Event and Influencer research
- Dropbox, Netgalley, Emplifi support
- Materials creation including press releases, media lists, influencer spreadsheet, and publicity plans
- Administrative support including but not limited to:
- Galley routing
- Sample mailing spreadsheet
- Creating generic publicity plans
- Publicity in-box routing
- Hot books weekly email to sales
Qualifications:
- Familiar with Microsoft and G-Suite applications
- Experience with WordPress or similar platform
- Experience with Asana or similar platform
- Ability to learn new software programs
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail and ability to prioritize workload
- Excellent organizational and research skills
- Energetic, creative, and independent
