Location: Hybrid from the North Adams Office or Remote. Company laptop will be provided for the duration of the program.

Weekly schedule: 28 hours per week (M-Th), 9:00am-5:00pm, with a one-hour lunch break.
Pay rate: $16.50/hour
As an HBG marketing and publicity intern, you will have the opportunity to work closely with seasoned professionals and gain hands-on professional experience as you own day-to-day tasks, help with special projects, and attend departmental meetings.
To enhance your work experience, we offer educational sessions featuring speakers from all departments of the company as well as networking and career development opportunities.
What you will learn:
- Write compelling book descriptions and add keywords for online retailers.
- Develop organic posts for social media, including writing copy, taking photos or creating graphics, and scheduling.
- Monitor e-retailer account sites to ensure accurate book and author data.
- Participate in marketing, editorial, and publicity brainstorming meetings.
- Develop digital ads, including writing copy and submitting creative briefs for marketing design.
- Research social media influencers and send campaign packages
What we look for in an intern:
- A passion for books and strong desire to learn more about the book publishing industry
- Interest in nature, gardening, cooking, crafting, herbal medicine and DIY learning is a strong plus.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Familiar with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Canva.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under deadlines
- Ability to learn new software programs
- The ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time effectively while also maintaining accuracy
- Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment
