School & Library Marketing Assistant, Little, Brown Books for Young Readers

Little, Brown Books for Young Readers seeks a collaborative, highly organized, detail-oriented, and visually creative marketing professional to join the School & Library Marketing Department. The department promotes titles aimed at for K – 12 readers to librarians and educators across the country through a variety of methods including targeted campaigns, conference attendance, print and digital advertising, social media, newsletter, mailings, and more. In this role, you will:
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist with a high volume of mailings in both physical and digital formats for projects such as national and state award submissions, influencer outreach, conference and trade show participation, etc.
  • Assist with the creation and maintenance of the departmental databases tracking contacts, reviews, publicity hits, marketing assets, etc.
  • Assist with the execution of School & Library Marketing campaigns through a variety of tasks including, but not limited to, maintaining accuracy of our plans in internal platforms such as Title Management, as well as record keeping for department meetings
  • Creation of department presentations aimed at both internal and external audiences
  • Coordinate departmental communications and calendars, particularly for trade reviews, social media posting, and other information
  • Other projects as needed

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
  • The ideal candidate will have prior experience or exposure to book publishing or marketing (internships ok)
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to ask questions, take direction, multi-task, prioritize and re-prioritize tasks quickly, and manage time effectively while also ensuring accuracy of work through attention to detail
  • Ability to take initiative, problem-solve, and communicate effectively, particularly in high-pressure circumstances
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
  • Familiarity with design platforms such as Adobe Creative Suite is strongly preferred
  • Mailings and other department work will include tasks that require moving boxes and other heavy items, standing for long periods of time and moving speedily among locations

The compensation for this position is $47,500. Salary can vary based on a number of factors including skills, experience, and location — talk with your recruiter to learn more. There may be times that you will be required (or requested) to work overtime due to the nature of your role or exceptional workload issues or special projects.
