Marketing Manager, Laurence King & Mobius

SUMMARY: 
Hachette Book Group is seeking an experienced Marketing Manager to join their Laurence King & Mobius team. Reporting to the Sales Director, this individual will be responsible for creating and implementing marketing campaigns for the Laurence King and Mobius lists.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Works closely with the Sales Director and Associate Marketing Manager to use research and analytics to create, communicate, and implement marketing campaigns
  • Independently runs marketing campaigns for titles across the Laurence King and Mobius lists leading up to, during, and after publication
  • Works alongside publishing teams in both the US and UK to ensure all key stakeholders stay informed and involved in campaign strategy across list
  • Manages marketing budget ensuring appropriate allocation of resources, and suggest spend for campaigns
  • Actively participates in internal meetings, as well as be able to lead meetings with authors, and other internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure appropriate and measurable reporting of activity and results
  • Leads preparation and execution of key trade shows (notably, New York NOW)
  • Directly manages the Associate Marketing Manager

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:
  • 4+ years of progressive marketing experience
  • Prior management experience preferred
  • Ability to work across time zones (PST and EST) and with stakeholders across the US and UK
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of Amazon Advertising Services
  • Proficiency with social media platforms and content management tools
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite is a plus
  • Familiarity with online programs such as Canva, AdEspresso, Mailchimp, and Squarespace is a plus
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Experience presenting in front of groups including internal meetings and with outside clients
  • Proven ability to deliver timely, accurate work and demonstrate good follow-up and follow-through.
  • Proficient in marketing research and statistical analytics
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  • Should demonstrate compassion, empathy, and ethical behavior in interactions with employees and the world at large. Proven ability to build supportive and constructive relationships within and outside of the organization; takes the lead in inspiring others to work together for mutual benefit.
 
Mobius is a publishing division owned and operated by Hachette UK but based in the Hachette Book Group New York office. Mobius takes the very best books from across HUK’s lists (approx. 80-100 titles per year) and markets, publicizes, and sells them in the US and Canda.

The compensation range for this position is $70,000-$80,000. Salary can vary based on a number of factors including skills, experience, and location — talk with your recruiter to learn more. There may be times that you will be required (or requested) to work overtime due to the nature of your role or exceptional workload issues or special projects.
