SUMMARY:
Hachette Nashville, a division of Hachette Book Group, seeks a Marketing Associate to join our team. This role will have the opportunity to aid in all aspects of executing title marketing campaigns and will collaborate across Nashville imprints, which including FaithWords, Worthy, Center Street, and WorthyKids. You will be hands-on in implementing a variety of campaign elements, including but not limited to newsletter promotions, social media and digital content creation, and more. This is an exciting opportunity for an engaged, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic marketer.
The Marketing Associate will be responsible for working on a broad range of titles, including faith-based adult non-fiction titles published by FaithWords and Worthy Books, whose categories include narrative inspirational nonfiction, Christian living, self-development, and women’s issues, as well as across the WorthyKids list which includes board books, picture books, and middle grade novels for the faith and general markets.

This is a Nashville-based opportunity. Please note our current hybrid model is two days per week in the office. Effective in January 2025, HBG’s hybrid model will be 3 days in-office, 2 days working from home.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support senior marketing team members by contributing to marketing brainstorms, book campaign tactics, and team initiatives
- Assist Digital Marketing Manager in developing, curating, and creating branded content, including SEO-optimized websites, e-newsletters, blog posts, downloadable resources, and promotional materials
- Manage outreach to influencers, VIPs, and organizations for cross-promotional opportunities; coordinate mailing and follow-up after each outreach to secure promotion
- Manage Nashville’s GoodReads and NetGalley accounts, including early reader campaigns
- Update and edit imprint websites via our content management system (Wordpress) as needed
- Liaise with publishing, editorial, sales, publicity and the larger marketing department to implement cohesive campaigns and promotions
- Own the department’s project management tasks, such as updating marketing copy for fact sheets, creating and monitoring marketing schedules, proofing marketing plan documents, etc
- Compiles reports to track and evaluate marketing and advertising campaign results and shares with management on goals (ROI and KPI’s)
- Actively leads and participates in internal meetings, as well as meetings with authors, agents, and sales
- Assists in creation and display of presentations (i.e. PowerPoint, Canva, etc.) for acquisitions and author/agent marketing meetings
- Assists with administrative duties as needed
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- 2 or more years experience in marketing, publishing, or adjacent field with a demonstrated ability to innovate and manage multiple projects at once
- Ability to work as part of a collaborative team, while also having full ownership of your work and autonomy to craft and implement marketing tactics
- Fluency in key marketing strategies, including email, social media marketing, influencer partnerships, and search engine marketing and optimization
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and thrive in a busy working environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively work with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community
- Knowledge of video and picture editing software, such as Adobe Suite and Canva
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, as well as Wordpress
- Familiarity with project management software, including Asana, TabExtend, and Google Sheets

The compensation range for this position is $46,000-$50,000. Salary can vary based on a number of factors including skills, experience, and location — talk with your recruiter to learn more. There may be times that you will be required (or requested) to work overtime due to the nature of your role or exceptional workload issues or special projects.
