Here at GXO, we are recruiting for a Warehouse Shift Manager (Lates) to join our team in Faversham.

The site is a sole distribution center for our customer, Shepherd Neame (Brewery). We are responsible for the housing and distribution of all products produced by our customer.

You will support the operational leaders to ensure, through deployment and team management, that all activity is completed in a timely and accurate manner, constantly achieving departmental KPIs. This is done by overseeing the local teams on a day-to-day basis.

This is a full-time, permanent position, working Monday to Friday, rotating over the shift pattern of 06:00 to 14:00 and 14:00 to 22:00. Some flexibility will be required for the occasional weekend cover at peak periods.

We're looking to offer a salary of up to £37,770.60, plus a late shift premium of £2,500.00 per annum (paid when late shift worked) and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). What you'll do on a typical day:
  • Manage and lead the shift, striving to maximise productivity, quality, and efficiency across the warehouse
  • Drive performance through effective monitoring of coaching and performance
  • Review all aspects of shift performance, identifying areas for improvement to ensure an efficient and accurate process
  • Leading the team on shift proactively to motivate high performance, develop positive engagement and good communication across the operation
  • Management of the warehouse training requirements and function

What you need to succeed at GXO:
  • Proven experience of managing an operational team in a warehouse environment at a similar level
  • The ability to lead continuous improvement projects whilst demonstrating excellent planning skills
  • Excellent communication skills with a focus on maintaining on-site engagement
  • Positive, people-oriented approach
