GXO is currently seeking a knowledgeable and motivated Transport Supervisor to join the BT contract atour Chelmsford site. You will experience a blend of first line operational tasks and hands on project involvement.

The role is being offered on a full-time, permanent basis. You will work Monday to Friday, 1pm to 9pm although some flexibility may be required during peak times - this is logistics after all!

What you'll do on a typical day:
  • Ensure a safe working environment and to operate in accordance with company Health & Safety policies this includes Road to Zero,
  • Ensure all GXO / DVSA compliance measures are prioritised and maintained, these include Tachomaster, Trailer Master, Tachograph analysis, infringement reporting and investigations
  • Ensure adequate accident investigations are carried out in a timely manner and recorded with appropriate support from the QHSE team and to take corrective action as appropriate with support from HR team
  • Day to day team management of all GXO and agency staff within the distribution operation across different shifts and sites as operationally required

What you need to succeed at GXO:
  • Proven experience in a leadership role within the transportation or logistics industry
  • Good knowledge of Health & Safety principles
  • Knowledge and understanding of vehicle compliance requirements and the importance of correct management including the safe vehicle loading / unloading process
  • Strong knowledge of transportation operations, safety regulations, and legal compliance
  • Problem solving skills and the ability to manage challenge
