What you do on a typical day as Transport Engineer:
  • Provide first-line support for day-to-day issues at the Zellik site using the Transport Management System
  • Maintain all telematics systems and computers connected to TAS and interfaces
  • Handle new tenders and business opportunities
  • Analyze and prepare calculations, simulations, and optimal route algorithms
  • Conduct internal reporting
  • Oversee the slot booking system for carriers
  • Manage ProTime for time registration in both warehouse and operations
  • Analyze new transport requests and optimize the use of the company's fleet
  • Engage in strategic distribution planning using route planning tools
  • Support business development projects, including tariff and budget calculations
What you need to succeed at GXO as Transport Engineer:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with strong analytical skills
  • 3 years of relevant experience in Supply Chain
  • Knowledge of Transport Management Systems
  • Fluency in English and Dutch; French is a plus
  • Useful skills include knowledge of transport planning tools, Microsoft Access, Power BI, ITMS, ProTime, VBA coding, SQL, database management, and understanding of EDI messages
