What you do on a typical day as a Solutions Engineer:

  • Create effective and efficient solutions including automation and innovation concepts for potential new customers or existing operations
  • Analyze and understand customer needs and requirement in their supply chain and translating that into warehousing concepts, including sustainability concepts
  • Create and deliver complete and correct cost models including P&L analyses for the created solutions
  • Work with all departments to create customer solutions to gain and retain new customer revenues
  • Create solution overviews and presentation material, (e.g. 3D drawings of the solution) to support the offering process to new customers. Convince customers via solution presentation, of GXO being the right partner
  • Design solutions that include layout plans, investment plans, productivity calculations, direct and indirect labor, implementation costs etc.
  • Support during implementation processes for example by acting as the solution gatekeeper

What you need to succeed at GXO as a Solutions Engineer:
  • Experience in Solutions Design or Engineering role, in a contract logistics (3PL) related environment
  • Experience with Business Development tender processes
  • Ability to work with financial metrics
  • Key competencies: proactive attitude, excellent communication skills, structured work style and creative mind. You need to be passionate about innovations and new concepts, able to sell, convince and influence
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint knowledge, CAD skills are nice to have
  • Fluent inEnglish
