Here at GXO, we're recruiting for an Operations Manager to join our growing team in Sherburn in Elmet to oversee the day-to-day running of our Asda contract. You will be a front-runner in enhancing employee engagement and their development whilst driving forward a culture of continuous improvement.

You will provide expert leadership and direction across the operation in order to deliver a high-quality and safe service to our customers, whilst ensuring that we fulfil our responsibilities relating to the warehouse services of the contract whilst managing and developing the site management population in line with the contract requirements and customer expectations.

This is a full-time, permanent position working 4 on 4 off days, between the hours of 07:00 am to 19:00 pm however, some flexibility may be required.

What you'll do on a typical day:
  • Review and evaluate the warehouse plans on a daily basis making recommendations for changes as appropriate to ensure all KPI's are achieved and improved upon
  • Monitor financial performance, identify cost saving initiatives and implement corrective actions where appropriate to maximise the efficiency of the warehouse function
  • Effectively manage your team of Shift Managers, understanding the challenges and successes they have on each shift and giving them all they need to manage their teams
  • With a forward-thinking attitude, you will be able to demonstrate an ability to drive change, moving at pace in a rapidly changing business environment
  • Focus on optimisation, cost-saving and continuous improvement, identifying opportunities for process enhancement and increased efficiency

What you need to succeed at GXO:
  • Experience managing a fast-paced warehouse operation
  • Ability to establish and manage continuous improvement initiatives, whilst driving efficiency
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of stakeholders and have experience with working with a customer directly
  • Change management experience- supporting continuous improvement on site and helping to implement change
