Are you a dynamic commercial lawyer with a passion for the fast-paced world of logistics? GXO Logistics, a leader in supply chain solutions, is seeking a Legal Counsel to join our team in Germany. This is an exciting opportunity to bring your legal expertise to a multinational organization, working on a variety of commercial contracts and influencing key business decisions.

What You Do on a Typical Day:

  • Review, draft, and negotiate multiple commercial contracts for both new customer business and customer contract renewals, as well as supplier contracts.
  • Manage general legal inquiries from the business, providing timely and accurate advice.
  • Collaborate with and oversee external counsel to ensure their work aligns with GXO expectations.
  • Stay up to date with legal developments in contract law and other areas impacting the business, sharing updates with the legal team and wider organization.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, inspiring confidence and trust.
  • Work autonomously in a fast-paced environment, managing your own caseload efficiently.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment and integrity in all work, aligning with company objectives and strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with legislative requirements and internal governance controls and processes.

What You Need to Succeed at GXO:
  • Proven in-house experience at a multinational organization or solid commercial contracting experience from a reputable law firm.
  • Experience in the logistics industry is advantageous, but not essential; we also welcome candidates from manufacturing, automotive, or similar sectors.
  • Strong research skills and the ability to quickly grasp new legal matters.
  • Basic understanding of property law, insurance, and employment matters is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills, work ethic, and accountability for managing business expectations.
  • Effective communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders.
  • Forward-thinking and creative mindset, with strong business acumen to assess the significance of legal matters and minimize risks.
  • Proficiency in English and German
