What you'll do on a typical day:
  • Establish a strategic direction for achieving account penetration and delivering plans
  • Cultivate new opportunities with customers to diversify and expand our core business
  • Utilize a Voice of Customer (VoC) methodology to manage the customer experience within the company
  • Promote "game-changing" thinking and continuously generate new ideas to improve processes, service, efficiency, quality and cost
  • Maintain accountability for account growth while ensuring that GXO exceeds customers' SLAs and expectations
  • Drive value-creating insights, recommendations and solutions to ensure long-term viable relationships are nurtured and sustained
  • Hire, lead, train and develop account management staff and drive world-class performance
  • Provide leadership in project management, process control, quality initiatives, RFP/RFQ response, creating Statements of Work (SOW), etc.
  • Partner with internal teams including Sales, IT, Procurement, Solutions, Engineering & Real Estate on RFP/RFQ response processes, from review to scope discovery to solution design, delivery and operations and commercial execution
  • Lead negotiations and develop relationships to navigate both internal and external initiatives
  • Stay current on customer's business strategy, trends and supply chain industry trends and communicate to key stakeholders in the organization
What you need to succeed at GXO:

At a minimum, you'll need:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience
  • 7 years of progressive experience in supply chain management
  • Availability to travel up to 50% of the time (75% if remote)
  • Experience in project management, process control, quality initiatives (Lean/6S), distribution/warehousing, production planning, statistical analysis, pricing, RFP response and SOW creation
  • Proven logistics industry/supply chain management knowledge with competency in omni-channel distribution or retail supply chain systems
It'd be great if you also have:
  • 10 years of experience in supply chain management
  • Superior customer relationship management experience and skills
  • Proven leadership and collaboration skills with the ability to effectively supervise, coach and influence teams
  • Experience with reviewing/drafting contracts, contract renewals, work orders and related documents an ensuring adherence to contractual obligations
  • Strong financial acumen, P&L experience in a 3PL environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to present clean, organized and thorough information and data appropriate for intended audience
  • Solid project and time management skills with the ability to multitask and handle customer expectations
