Intern - Finance Executive / Management Accounting (June/July 2024)

Preferred Period of Internship Required: 6 months minimum (June/July 2024)

Preferred School/Course of Intern: Finance/Accounting/Business Administration/Economics.

JOB PURPOSE:

We are looking for an intern who will be partnering SMAS analyst on weekly and month end closing activities. Responsible in the preparation of journal entries, preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and execution of internal control in accordance with GSK Internal Control Framework. The intern will be assigned different part of process and trained to support various key activities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintenance of inventory master data.
  • Accounting of goods in transit.
  • Calculation of purchase price variance.
  • Execute month end close steps in accordance with month end close checklist (MEC) and SOP's.
  • Responsible in the preparation of journal entries, preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and execution of internal control in accordance with GSK Internal Control Framework.
  • Execute transaction interfaces between ERP systems; extraction of reports from ERP and Bison.
  • Raise and post journal entries.
  • Inventory reports.
  • Manufacturing overhead reports, OPEX.
  • Data collection for monthly and quarterly corporate reports.
  • Provide support to analyst members within the team thereby ensuring quality is maintained.
  • Data collection (KPI) to measure customer service levels.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Other ad-hoc activities like participate in any compliance audits and respond to audit queries
