Department Overview

The Global Commercial team manages commercial matters for top multi-market clients and major new business pitches within the agency, with the goal of building contractually sound and profitable long-term client relationships. The team works with global Account Management to build strong relationships with existing clients, with global Growth leaders to create competitive proposals for new business pitches, and with other teams across GroupM and WPP such as Finance and Legal.

Objectives of the Role:

The Senior Analyst provides support to the Global Commercial team on new business remuneration proposals and on commercial, contractual, and reporting initiatives across our top multi-market clients.

Business Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating the commercial proposals for global new business pitches, including communicating with local markets, consolidating data, pricing out fees, and analyzing remuneration structures.
  • Monitoring and tracking global retainer fees and media commissions of existing clients, and pricing fees based off staff plans.
  • Analyzing local market data and completing reports based on contractual or internal requirements, such as media rebates, unbilled media, timesheets and fee reconciliations.
  • Tracking local market communications for a given request and building Excel workbooks that consolidate local market data and enable quick and efficient analyses.
  • Creating clear, simplified summaries to present complex global data to management/decision makers.
  • Help brief and educate local markets about key commercial issues.

Skills and Behaviors:

  • Very strong analytical and quantitative skills; very comfortable with algebraic formulas.
  • Proactive approach to creating efficient methods to consolidate and maneuver through large data sets.
  • General understanding of financial concepts such as revenue, costs, profit, invoicing, and cash flow.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; ability to communicate clear messages to mass audiences over email.
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines and to remain calm under pressure.

Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of experience in commercial-related fields, client finance or business affairs.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is preferred.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel, including familiarity with features such a XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and Pivot Tables. Knowledge of Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Exposure to multiple markets is a plus.
