The HR Senior Associate is a key member of the Oswego Leadership team and partners with the Plant Manager, Operations Manager and Supervisors to drive employee engagement and build a high-performance work team. As a US HR CC business partner, the HR Senior Associate is responsible for supporting the Griffith Foods People Strategy (Global People Scorecard (Talent, Organization, Development, and Culture - TODC Activities), Aspirations, CC AOP and LRP goals.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Change Enablement:With the support of the Plant Manager and HR Manager, enable positive change by taking a comprehensive approach, including the development of a change ready culture. With the support of the HR Manager, bring forward unique needs of manufacturing population and management
  • Team member Development:Address organization capability gaps and supplies talent development processes and solutions. Effective partner with training peers and HR Manager.
  • Team Member (Employee) Engagement/Relations:Work with leaders and HR Manager to develop and implement broad-based team member engagement solutions. Investigates and resolves plant team member relations issues. Maintain all required legal and governmental labor postings.
  • Performance Management:Work with managers to set business aligned and measurable goals and provide ongoing performance feedback. Support management to ensure annual processes are executed effectively, in a compliant and fair way, and within timelines.
  • Talent Acquisition:Develop proactive strategies to attract key talent. Manage talent acquisition process for all associate level roles, including conducting new hire orientation (with assistance from Facilities Coordinator).
  • Compensation: Support management in executing the salary planning process. Administer pay changes and annual hourly compensation process.
  • HR Operations:Perform operational/tactical human resources activities as required. Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting comply.
  • Complete day-to-day administration of Human Resource programsincluding completing necessary documents to enroll, terminate and change team member statuses.

Maintain required documentation, including personnel files, discipline records, electronic documentation, in support of Company Policies, Affirmative Action, Attendance, and Performance Management.

  • Support and coach Plant Management in working through team member relations issues, making appropriate recommendations and guiding management on fair, appropriate, compliant resolutions.
  • Process and coordinate with team members and supervisors on FMLA/Short Term Disability claims, Workers Compensations claims and leaves of absence, as well as fulfilling OSHA requirement for the facility.
  • Lead the recruitment process including job postings, resume review, interviewing, offer letters, and onboarding process.
  • Assist with ensuring legal compliance by routinely auditing employment law postings for accuracy and adherence to established guidelines and applicable federal and state laws.

Assist with Plant compliance audits as requested.

  • Consistently apply appropriate judgment and discretion in the handling of sensitive and/or confidential information.
  • Support annual HR cycle deliverables to include performance management, merit and bonus awards, benefits enrollment, team member engagement surveys, etc.
  • Conduct new hire onboarding (virtually and in person) and process all documents for new team members for both plants, ensuring accurate team member data is entered into the Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
  • In conjunction with local events committee, assist with planning and preparing team member appreciation events, as well as coordinating wellness onsite visits, open enrollment, etc.
  • Strong problem-solving skills exercised daily. All day-to-day decisions are made with autonomy with transparent communication with the HR Manager during 1:1 meeting

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree Human Resources or related field.
  • 3+ years progressive experience in Human Resources administration and activities, 1+ years in a manufacturing environment.
  • Plant manufacturing experience is required (Food Industry experience is a plus).
  • Strong problem solver. Thrives in ambiguous environments.
  • "Can do" attitude with examples of resiliency in the workplace
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Collaborative approach in working with others in a diverse, inclusive organization.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proven capability to partner closely with mid-senior level leadership.
  • Bilingual in Spanish
  • Proficient with MS Programs, such as Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Word & Outlook
  • Must be able to travel 10%.
