Position Summary:
Reporting to the Planning and Analytics Manager, the Planning Analyst is responsible for gathering, reporting, and providing analysis of inventory volumes to make key demand and supply decisions as well as assistance with the Mid-to-Long-Term (MLT) Supply Planning improvement processes and projects.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conduct inventory management tasks, including safety stock analysis, lead time review, and Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ) review, applying sound supply chain principles.
- Assist the sales team by providing essential information related to inventory planning and developing or enhancing the Supply Agreement for negotiation with customers.
- Evaluate and update D365 parameters to ensure supply chain efficiency and high service levels.
- Evaluate and identify risks in new business opportunities and ensure successful product launches.
- Evaluate inventory shortages and surpluses, and implement corrective actions to prevent future issues, while balancing inventory levels to meet working capital targets.
- Proactively identify raw materials at risk of stock-out; develop and execute action plans to mitigate low supply.
- Evaluate and assess risk on discontinue and volume changes, collaborate cross-functionally to prevent obsolescence.
- Collaborate with at-risk inventory planning analyst, demand planner, and cross functional teams to reduce risks related to excess inventory.
- Develop reports and implement data collection systems and strategies to optimize statistical efficiency and data quality.
- Perform advanced data analysis and recommend actions that will increase efficiencies in the inventory planning process.
- Work in modeling projects to understand and enhance supply planning processes.
- Recommend, implement, and document work processes to incorporate improvements.
- Acts as backup for Planning Analysts / Material Planner.
- Participate in supply chain projects, or other duties that may be assigned as required.
- Participate in physical inventory as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Data Science, Industrial/Operations Engineering or Business Administration is required.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a supply chain related role.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, MS Office, and Data Analysis Tools.
- Superior analytical, data mining skills, and the ability /experience to work with huge data sets.
- Must have excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
- APICS/ CPIM certification is preferred.
- Experience in Microsoft D365, Blue Yonder, SQL, Power BI knowledge is an asset.
