Summary: Drives an electric powered industrial forklift and other powered moving equipment (transtacker, pallet jack, etc.) Moves products, equipment or materials by performing the following duties:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Moves levers and presses pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatus.
• Positions forks, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, materials, and transports load to designated area.
• Gathering of all staged, oiled, and batched raw materials for the mixers on a timely basis.
• Transporting blended products (WIP totes, supersacks, pallets of finished products) to the QA conveyor or to the Packaging Department.
• Supply designated operators with materials needed to meet the R/E's.
• Sorting pallets; transporting good used pallets and broken pallets to the designated areas.
• Rotation of premixes on a first in first out basis using manufacturing dates.
• Identifying "hold" bill of materials and bringing them to the Mixing Team Captain on a timely basis.
• Supplying correct WIP totes to the Packaging Lines.
• Safely place WIP totes onto tote stands in an efficient and timely manner.
• Recharges forklift batteries.
• Performs daily safety inspection of forklift.
• Maintain accurate paper and electronic (D365) records of material and products moved.
Qualifications:
• Prior forklift experience a plus.
• To perform this job successfully, an individual should have or gain knowledge to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and write in English. Can comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Has strong knowledge of Mixing and/or Packaging operations.
• Knowledge of ERP system (DAX).
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lb containers.
• Ability to successfully complete the Griffith Foods Forklift Certification Program.
• Strong hand eye coordination and attention to detail.

Physical Qualifications
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms and climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to: sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell as well as work on a platform and climb up and down stairs. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
