The Finance Manager is responsible for financial planning and analysis for the Custom Culinary business. Strategic and continuous improvement mindset required to ensure best practices are developed/enabled across planning and reporting activities. This includes annual and quarterly forecasts, month end reporting, and general business analytics. Also supports improved profitability analysis and results.
Annual Planning & Quarterly Forecasting
- Manage the planning process including scheduling and leading meetings to review status against planning timelines to ensure process on schedule and includes appropriate inputs/assumptions.
- Oversee the development of the raw material and packaging costs budget using the guidance from Purchasing to load material standard costs to D365.
- Drive continued process improvements in and completion of building Sales budget and forecasts
- Support the process for building Selling expense budget and forecasts
- Support building the SG&A budgets for other functions
- Consolidate and load data to BPC for forecasts and AOP
- Load budget details and forecasts to D365
Month End Close
- Lead the monthly financial closing process
- Ensure Revenue Recognition follows established procedures
- Variance analysis - identify key drivers for monthly financial performance
- Ensure expenses are properly coded and complete adjusting entries as needed
- Validate data in BPC ties to D365 general ledger and distribute scorecard
- Maintain balance sheet reconciliations
- Ensure D365 balances align with G2 Sales reporting tool
- Investigate, recommend, and implement improved systems including but not limited to Technological, Procedural, and Talent improvements.
- Identify opportunities to improve internal controls and processes
Reporting- Prepare Month End Reporting package
- Support completion of annual audit
- Ad hoc reporting to support business projects/initiatives
- Ensure that the interfaces between D365 and Blacksmith are correct. Lead resolution of issues as needed.
People- Manage and support continued development of one direct reporting employee.
- Support the development of department employees.
- Continually work to improve talent, skills, and capabilities.
Pricing and Profitability- Provide support to the on-going Portfolio optimization process (Sales data, costs, margin, and any analytics needed for the process)
- Support processes to ensure new products achieve targeted margins
- Quantify and track realized price increases
- Price/volume/mix analysis
