Position: Associate Regulatory Specialist

Location: Monterrey, Nuevo León

Summary:

  • Provides Regulatory support and expertise both internally within Griffith Foods, and externally with our clients to support the overall business strategy of the organization. Regularly communicates verbally and electronically with R&D, Sales, and Clients to support defense and growth of the business.

Major duties & Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and provides required documentation support for internal and external customers. Support documentation including but not limited to: Specifications, Allergen Statements, Genetically Modified Statements, Kosher, Halal, SDS, Range Formulas, Nutrition Information, Country of Origin information.
  • Works at the direction of the Regulatory Manager and Senior Regulatory Specialists.
  • Interprets and applies proper terms for Griffith Foods' ingredients to create accurate finished product labels.
  • Interprets local and international (Mexico, USDA/FDA, CFIA) labeling, regularly communicates with R&D, Sales, Clients.
  • Communicates with external governing agencies to facilitate certification of materials, products, and promote positive business relationships.
  • Communicates receipt of Regulatory requests and provides updates as to progress and completion.
  • Coordinates across functions to gather technical information needed to fulfill Regulatory requests.
  • Coordinates/carries out specific projects related to Regulatory Compliance and the Regulatory Department.
  • Facilitate development and production of safe and regulatory compliant food products through confirmation of regulatory compliance.
  • Responsible for handling, maintaining, and enhancing the security of all information regarding product formulas and other technical information.
  • Represents Regulatory and Product Development in professional business relationships with Griffith Foods client and supplier base, academia, government, and corporations in the food industry.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • B.S. in Food Science or related field from a 4-year institution.
  • 1-3 years Food Regulatory experience.
  • Bilingual English / Spanish (MX).
  • Strong working knowledge of FDA regulations and good basic knowledge of USDA regulations pertaining to raw materials, including applications and labeling.
