PRIMARY FUNCTION

Provide leadership and general guidance to NEX employees supporting quoting service activity. Promote first class service that enables revenue, profitability, expense, and operating earnings targets to be achieved. You will report to the Sourcing Operations Manager.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build to Standard Work to promote a high level of customer experience that differentiates Grainger from its competitors.
  • Coach Team Members to compete with urgency through Standard Work adoption, tool use, productivity, and quality to promote the best customer experience.
  • Promote employee engagement to create and promote an environment where employees are empowered and committed to the success of the organization.
  • Monitor and enhance employees' individual performance through clearly defined expectations and training to achieve organizational goals regarding productivity, work quality and overall customer experience. Use the monthly 1:1 meeting to convey individual Team Member scorecards on performance.
  • Build relationships with internal partners and colleagues to ensure processes are while addressing the needs of the customer and the company.
  • Manage Daily Operational support of Standard Quote processing including Aging quotes in process, Quotes that have not been started yet, Quote Approvals and Cancelations where applicable, Large Dollar PO releases and situational Team Members questions.
  • Work with Partners towards Sourcing Goals of Timely, Accurate quotes. Join DSM calls to foster Sourcing partnerships to bring awareness to Sourcing capabilities and processes.
  • Deploy to Team Members in huddles/meetings any Sourcing process changes and programs per Sourcing Deployment process; while driving communications that are consistent across leadership and help Team Members understand the why.
  • Embrace change management principles to improve success into work. Embrace curiosity to ensure foundational understanding of the process is embedded in daily work. Be a good overseer of the business to help and support others in the work through Grainger Edge.
  • Drive employee initiative to create and promote an environment where employees are involved, empowered and committed to the success of the organization

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Empower and engage employees to identify process improvements and exceed customer expectations
  • Empowered to influence decisions affecting every aspect of Sourcing P&L. This includes activities that improving service, sales growth, customer relationships, employee development, and expense/budget management
  • Maintain a network to guarantee a personal and seamless customer experience through multiple channels, through demonstrated leadership and execution in the areas of talent excellence, customer service, aggressive sales growth, and cost to serve
  • 1-3 years previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Ability to empower and engage employees to identify continuous process improvements and exceed customer expectations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to partner with people throughout the organization.
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
