Position Summary:

Supervise the day-to-day operations of the Branch, including but not limited to driving profitable sales growth, customer service, reporting, inventory control and performance management.

This is a Fly in/Fly out role Onsite at Forthills

7on/7off

Job Responsibilities (You Will):

Performance Drivers:

People Leadership - Owns their Talent:

  • Supervise and manage team, including recruiting, training, motivating, and conducting the performance excellence program
  • Work with the ISSR team with the preparation of customer quotes, contracts, and advise on pricing strategies
  • Monitor team member productivity and motivate team to reach company goals and objectives

Market/Business Leadership:

  • Understand/know the market and customer opportunities and competition
  • Contribute to and build strong community relationships

Sales and Service Leadership:

  • Answer customer concerns with pricing, procurement, delivery, and product promoting Private Brands, NTS and eCommerce channels whenever possible
  • Maintain a well-rounded knowledge of products sold
  • Support the sales team through up selling, service, pricing, delivery and inventory inquiries
  • Promote Company products and services to customers and provide substitutions where required

Operations Leadership:

  • Contribute to the preparation/execution of annual operating plan including profitable sales, gross margins, expenses and earnings
  • Support Branch manager in leading the 5S process to clean and optimize the branch. Utilize company best practices
  • Prepare reports on an as needed basis to provide information to Branch Manager and provide management communication through Daily Service Meetings
  • Maintain knowledge and ensure compliance of WHMIS, Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act, WSIB, and all related governing legislation
  • Ensure compliance of workforce with provincial regulations, codes and approved Grainger operating practices

Education/Experience (You Have):

  • Knowledge of industrial and/or safety products is preferred
  • Proven experience of effective coaching, team building, recruitment, training and development of a team, coupled with a hands on management approach
  • Strong leadership qualities with good communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills
  • Proven skills in time management and ability to prioritise tasks within a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient computer skills and aptitude
  • Understanding of local customer and market dynamics and requirements would be an asset
  • Completion of post secondary education, preferably in Business or equivalent work experience
