Maintenance Technician III

Responsibilities:

As a Maintenance Tech III, your primary responsibilities are to complete preventative maintenance tasks and routine repairs on the automated material handling system components of the Distribution Center. You'll report to a Facilities Supervisor.

  • Respond to all system issues involving conveyors, PIE, sortation and controls (EMS, WCS, Sort Director, EWM, Hardware, and Software)
  • Serve as subject matter expert for basic troubleshooting/diagnostics and repair of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and control system components of the conveyor system and building components, including: PLCs, DC drives, AC invertors, Linear motors, VFDs, Encoders, Scanners, Power distribution, communication systems, computer controlled building systems, conveyor systems and maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Operate on all material handling and powered equipment.
  • Work at heights and in unusual positions.
  • Must be available for 24-hour on-call rotation.
  • Know and use safe work practices, including LOTO standards and Arc Flash.
  • Experience using electrical test equipment, hand tools, power tools, calipers, and gauges.
  • Experience with reading and interpreting MEP (Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing) drawings and schematics.
  • High level of knowledge of codes such as the NEC, BOCA and UBC, MSDS and OSHA

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 5+ years of building and equipment maintenance experience with 2+ years maintaining Dematic or similar conveyor systems.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office products.
  • Design, implement, and document PLC (Siemens, Allen Bradley) programming changes to automated equipment when authorized.
  • Experience with power distribution, power generation, and control circuits.
  • Troubleshoot and implement changes to I/O device networks such as Profibus, Data Highway, and CanBus.
  • Physical requirements include frequently lifting, pushing, and sliding objects that typically weigh up to 50 lbs. and may occasionally weigh up to 75lbs.
  • 2+ years of experience with thermal imaging equipment to detect early failure(s) of both mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Experienced with AC drives (set-up, programming, faults).
  • Successful completion of Maintenance skills evaluation.
