Position Summary:

The Customer Master Data Specialist is responsible for the accurate, efficient and effective management of Grainger's customer master data and customer hierarchies. The CMD Specialist handles all internal and external requests for new accounts or updates to existing accounts in accordance with internal policies to ensure the accuracy and quality of customer master data.

Job Responsibilities (You Will):

  • Creates and maintains Customer Master Data for the business units based on information provided by the business and or Customer, verifying that the appropriate information is supplied for input into SAP.
  • Reviews the information for completeness and accuracy based on the business requirement/process
  • Offers guidance, recommendations and solutions to business partners and customers to ensure an effortless customer experience through the effective management of Customer Master Data
  • As the subject matter expert raise issues and risks relating to CMD with a thorough understanding of the impacts through the OTC stream and work to resolve issues in an efficient, accurate and timely manner
  • Collaborate with business partners and customers to understand and ensure that all new or re-alignment of CMD restructuring and or complete clean-up for work deemed as a project is completed accurately and within agreed to time frames.
  • As part of the FS call centre the CMD Specialist must maintain the highest ethical and professional standards at all times. Demonstrating flexibility and accessibility both personally and for the department to ensure that all applicable laws and statutory requirements are communicated, followed and adhered to pertaining to credit, collections and reporting.
  • Flexibility and the ability to prioritize sundry duties as required

Education/Experience (You Have):

  • Secondary diploma (minimal)
  • 1 to 3 years SAP customer master data experience in a large complex National organization
  • Solid credit/collection experience with excellent organizational skills and a proven ability to plan and deliver accurate results
  • Proven speed and accuracy in data entry within a windows based environment
  • Ability to effectively balance workflow and the needs of the business simultaneously in an environment of competing internal / external customer priorities.
  • Familiarity of credit and collection guidelines and limitations under the Privacy Act
  • Bilingual French / English an Asset (verbal and written)
