Primary Function

As part of Grainger's vision to become a global leader in product information and the most trusted site in B2B distribution, ongoing maintenance is critical to ensuring consistently high data quality that creates strong customer and supplier confidence. As stewards of product information quality, Grainger's Product Information team will efficiently execute product information and content maintenance to ensure our data and content assets are accurate and can be held accountable to the high standards that will make Grainger best in class.

In this role, the Content Maintenance Specialist will review internal and external customer feedback on data inaccuracies and other quality issues, validate the correct information or content, and update the appropriate data and assets accordingly. This work will be executed in a timely manner with the appropriate documentation and handoffs.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Review internal and external customer feedback and assess the need for product information or asset updates to resolve quality issues.
  • Follow-up with internal business partners as needed for issue clarification.
  • Validate appropriate updates to product information or assets using provenanced sources, leveraging Supplier Engagement partners as needed for supplier outreach.
  • Update product information and assets as required across all applicable systems.
  • Clearly document issue resolution, executing any required handoffs to internal business partners.
  • Other activities as necessary to support PI Governance, PI Gather, or PI Production.

Education and Experience

  • BA/BS or equivalent preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of Product Information best practices across data quality.
  • Customer service focused, acknowledges customers concerns and/or requests; takes responsibility for fulfilling both customers and business needs.
  • Flexible and able to adapt and respond to different types of product information related scenarios.
  • Proven Analytical and problem-solving skills; able to navigate ambiguous scenarios independently or little guidance and make sound decisions to satisfy business needs.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to partner cross-functionally, working with all levels of management.
  • Written and verbal communication skills, communicating cross-functionally and clearly documenting findings and solutions.
  • Results and solutions oriented, focused on efficient implementation and execution, operating with a clear sense of urgency.
  • Familiarity with category review, new product introduction, and other merchandising processes preferred.
  • Working knowledge of business objectives including merchandising strategy, product information, and supplier management.
  • Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint & Word.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish- read, write, speak).
